Hockey & Other Sports Equipment
Steve’s Sports has long been associated with recreational sporting goods in Middleboro. For 60 years, the store was an iconic part of town life – locals struggle to recall what life would be like without its bright maroon-and-white facade.
Now, the family-owned business is experiencing an exciting transformation. Their retail space will undergo a complete remodel in 2019, focusing on hockey instead. Renamed the Duluth Hockey Company by their owners, their goal is to become the go-to place in their region for hockey equipment and apparel sales.
The Duluth Hockey Company will still outfit ice hockey teams from throughout the Twin Ports while welcoming customers from as far away as Mountain Iron and Buhl areas. According to its general manager, Jamie Stauber, this shift makes sense.
Stauber will remain part of his family-owned business in Duluth Hockey Company; however, giving up the Sports Den name to focus on regional branding was difficult but necessary as they move into its next stage.
Rochester-based sportswear retailer Reebok Sportswear is well known for providing custom athletic gear to schools, businesses, and local organizations in Rochester and beyond. Their specialty lies in custom logos and team colors as well as uniforms and apparel – with totes, hats, t-shirts, and more available from them as well. Their founder, Steven Carell, from “The Office” fame, is perhaps best recognized here as well but has no known links to hockey at all.
