Patrick Michael Rogers of Assonet passed away peacefully after an arduous five-month fight against cancer on March 10, 2019, after lovingly and courageously enduring it for five months. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Elizabeth Sullivan Rogers, whom he affectionately referred to as his princesses; daughters Chelsea Morgan Mauricio and MacKenzie Taylor Rogers; sister Dolores Arruda of Fall River; brothers Jason & Kimberly Rogers from Assonet TN as well as grands Abbey Chourchaine & Sydney Rogers along with numerous nieces & nephews as well as his furry companion Bailey (predeceased by son Adam Roy Rogers).

He was an attorney and author of many textbooks used by police officers to prepare for promotional exams, often selling out his seminars ultimately.

Lawrence “Larry” Roies

Lawrence “Larry” Roies, 70 years old of Tiverton and originally from Fall River, passed away on January 8th at Charlton Memorial Hospital after working as a custodian for the Tiverton School Department.

At home, he was an extremely caring father and grandfather, attending baseball games for his grandsons and dance recitals for his granddaughters with great pleasure. On Valentine’s Day, he always made sure his wife and family received Valentine’s treats as well.

JoNell Willmy moved to Carriage Inn in Katy, Texas, in 2015, where she enjoyed music and special events provided at Carriage Inn while making many new friends. Sadly, she passed away after three years but left behind James Willmy and Nancy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, to mourn her loss.

Joseph R. Desrosiers

Joseph Desrosiers, 84, of Fall River, passed peacefully at Savoy Nursing Home in New Bedford on March 18. He was husband to Geraldine G. (Bettencourt) Desrosiers and owned Joseph Desrosiers Scrap and Iron; he also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and helping veterans during his free time. Joseph Desrosiers leaves behind Pamela Barselou, Fred Desrosiers, and Edmond J. Leduc, Jr, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Stephen M. Sprague

Thomas Sprague married Elizabeth Ann Russell (born Sprague) at 21 in Maine around 1892, when their marriage took place at the marriage place and Maine marriage location. Sharon A. Slattery

Sharon Lou (Powers) Slattery passed from this life on August 30, 2023, surrounded by family at her home at the age of 66.

Sharon was a licensed practical nurse working both in-home care and at Vincent House Comfort Care Facility in Wayland. She enjoyed reading and crafts. Additionally, she would watch true crime documentaries as well as play Candy Crush in her free time.

She leaves behind her husband of Wayland, Daniel P. Slattery; two sons – Mark Slattery and his partner Chelsea Levesque as well as Andrew; two granddaughters, Kolton Perry, and Lily Levesque; brother-in-law Gary Powers as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arlene Dorothy DeMarco

Arlene Dorothy DeMarco is 89 years old and a beloved member of her community in Williamstown. She attended St. Patrick and St Raphael Parish and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Leonard L. DeMarco survives her. Additionally, their daughters Mary Olszowka (DeMarco) of Somerville and Jennifer DeMarco of Brighton, as well as many nieces and nephews, will miss her greatly.

Maria doCarmo (Carminha) Silva

Maria do Carmo (Carminha) Silva of Fall River passed away peacefully at Catholic Memorial Home on December 17, 2023, at age 90. Born in Fenais da Luz on the Azores island of Sao Miguel, she was the daughter of Albano Pimental (deceased) and Virginia (Inacio) Pimental.

She was an active communicant at St. Michael’s Church in Fall River and is survived by her son Joao Silva and daughters Grace Cyr and Carmen Silva; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother; as well as various nieces and nephews. Unfortunately, she was predeceased by John Moniz. Wilkerson Funeral Home handled arrangements for his cremation service.

Virgil Pacheco Jr.

On Dec. 24, 2023, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, 56-year-old Virgil Pacheco Jr. of Somerset passed away peacefully after 33 years as husband to Ann Marie (Viveiros) Pacheco and father to Cecile “CeCe” Pacheco – son to Virgil and Mary Louro Pacheco.

St. John of God Church and was proud of working closely with his daughter on many projects. Additionally, he was an accomplished architectural designer with his own business, Traditional Design Associates. Family and friends will greatly miss him. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association in lieu of traditional floral tributes.
